  • "Color is not a crime." ~mom

Mom loved her muumuu’s and believed everyone looked better in bright colors. She would cringe at people wearing black and she loved when people wore bright hues. Celebrate her by wearing your most colorful clothes in her honor, Saturday, February 26th.

  • In lieu of flowers

Given the virtual format of this memorial, Mom would have loved you to enjoy flowers in your own homes. If you are able, please treat yourself to some fresh flowers or see what treasures you have in your own yards. These pictured below, are from her yard.

  • Share and Join

Mom was an analog soul and did not participate in social media. Her phone book— though jam packed with information, created a challenge in reaching out to everyone. Please help us share ruthmom.com with others, who may want to attend her virtual memorial.

Family is everything to me

I’ve grown into the woman I am because of the lessons I’ve learned from those who came before me.

I hope that, as I’ve gone through life, I have grown to become the person that my family wanted me to be. I pray that when I leave this earth, that I will have left behind enough of me to guide those who come after.

I want them to be able to speak my name with pride and love, and know that no matter how far away my soul will travel, my heart will always be with them.

So I am dedicating this book to families. Good or bad. Large or small. They are our beginning, and ultimately all that’s left of us when we are gone.
